Dan looked at my concerns outside and he determined that is nothing to do with the foundation. He explained the nature of the problem and the available options for repair. The internal issue was consistent with the external assessment. The fireplace just needed a bit of repair. Dan was personable and provided thoughtful explanations. My husband and I appreciated his demeanor as it immediately demonstrated a commitment to excellent customer service.
I met Dan H. this afternoon, to talk about my pooling water issue in the inside corner of my foundation, in my crawlspace. In speaking with Dan, at some length, I found Dan to be friendly and very personable. Additionally, Dan expressed that he was a "straight shooter", which I definitely found him to be, and was refreshing. We both ran short on time, so he will be back another day soon, to physically inspect my crawlspace for water damage and a workable solution.
Dan was honest about the problems we are experiencing. The outside fountain concern was not something he could repair, it is not structural. The inside was the same. Happy, personable person.
We had CNT, along with a few other “reputable” companies come out to inspect some cracks on the foundation of the home we are trying to sell. The other companies tried to sell us thousands of dollars worth of work that they “recommended” without doing a proper inspection. CNT came out and did a complete inspection under the house, as well as measurements inside the house to determine any sinking or shifting in the foundation. No other company even stepped foot in the home. They were the only company that was honest, and told us that there is nothing wrong with the foundation, the cracks are only in the stucco on the outside which are superficial, and that NO work needed to be done at this time. They wrote us a clearance letter to use to ease the buyers mind, and satisfy any questions with the inspection. They would have benefited more financially to try to sell us work that wasn’t needed, but instead they were upfront and honest. We paid a small fee for the inspection versus thousands for unneeded repairs. Travis and TC have both been fantastic to work with and gone above and beyond to help in any way possible. If you need any type of foundation work, call CNT. You will not be disappointed and you will not find nicer, more honest people.

I just want to give Dan a huge shout out! Dan is the most loyal and honest guy around! If you’re ever looking for a foundation company, CNT is the way to go! And ask for Dan!
Dan quickly assessed our foundation issues, developed a clear plan, and coordinated with his team to correct them efficiently. Their pricing was reasonable, and they were able to get us scheduled quickly. I was very pleased with the entire experience and highly recommend their company.
Dan is a great guy! I’ve worked with him before, and he’s dependable, knowledgeable, and does excellent work. I’d definitely recommend him!
Dan and his team have helped us out on several projects. He’s our go-to guy when it comes to repairs with many years of experience. Definitely recommend CNT!!!
We had an excellent experience with CNT Foundations from start to finish. Jurgen was fantastic throughout the entire process. He took the time to answer our questions, explain the work that was being recommended, and stayed in communication with us from the initial evaluation all the way through completion of the project.Justin and the installation crew were equally impressive. They were professional, knowledgeable, respectful of our home, and clearly took pride in doing the job correctly. We had additional support installed beneath our home, including new concrete footings and structural reinforcement, and the difference was noticeable immediately. The floors feel significantly more solid and stable than they did before the work was completed.I also really appreciated that Jurgen followed up afterward to make sure we were satisfied with everything. That level of communication and customer service is becoming increasingly rare, and it made a major home repair project much less stressful. We are extremely pleased with the finished work and would absolutely recommend CNT Foundations. A big thank you to Jurgen, Justin, and the entire crew for their hard work and professionalism. Five stars without hesitation!

FAQs

We’ve saved the most pressing concern for last, as it’s one of the most frequently asked questions by homeowners. We understand the importance of getting clear answers and the frustration of not receiving them promptly.

On average, homeowners can expect to spend around $4,000 on crawl space waterproofing, with project costs typically ranging from $2,000 to $10,000. The return on investment for crawl space waterproofing is estimated to be about 30 percent.

The cost of wet crawl space repairs can vary significantly because each home has unique needs and repair requirements. What worked for your next-door neighbor’s home may not be the right solution for yours.

This is why it’s crucial to be present during an appointment with one of our certified inspectors. The inspector needs to assess the problems in your home firsthand to develop customized repair solutions tailored to your specific needs. They will consider factors such as your budget, repair goals, the severity of damage, square footage, and the amount of material required.

While the cost can vary greatly depending on the specific issues and needs of your basement, can you really put a price on your peace of mind and your family’s health? Think of crawl space waterproofing as an investment with invaluable benefits.

We are 100% committed to you and the health and safety of your family and home. That’s why we only install the best, proven, warrantied products that will effectively keep your crawl space dry. Our products are made right here in the United States and have been tested to withstand harsh leaking water conditions. This is our promise to you, your family, and your home.

Here are the solutions we use to fix your wet crawl space and how they work:

Drainage Systems – Interior drainage is the most effective way to tackle seeping water. First, we intercept the leaking water by excavating the perimeter of your crawl space floor and installing the BasementGutter™ interior drainage system in your sub-floor. This system captures seeping water from the walls and floor and directs it to a sump pump system. We also offer grated drainage pipe systems that can be placed in front of stairs and access points, which can be integrated into the rest of the perimeter drainage system.

Sump Pumps – After the leaking water is intercepted by interior drainage channels, it needs to be redirected away from your crawl space floor. Our systems discreetly collect and drain this water into a sump pump system, which then pumps the water out of the crawl space and away from your home. We offer several sump pump systems to meet your waterproofing needs.

Frozen Discharge Line Solutions – Water from the sump pump is pumped out through a discharge line, which can sometimes freeze or become blocked. Our FreezeGuard™ outlet can be attached to the exterior line just outside your foundation wall, preventing water from backing up and leaking into your crawl space.

Dehumidification – Keeping your crawl space and home safe and healthy also involves conditioning the air. Our powerful yet energy-efficient dehumidifiers clean and filter the air, control moisture and humidity, and reduce odors and the potential for mold growth. Unlike conventional dehumidifiers, our units are self-draining and can be directed to drain into sump pumps or perimeter drainage systems, so you don’t have to worry about emptying buckets or reservoirs.

As you explore potential waterproofing companies, we encourage you to strongly consider working with us. While you may think we’re just like any other contractor, we assure you that we stand out with our world-class team and exceptional solutions.

First, we offer a free, no-obligation inspection and estimate. Once you contact us, our office team will schedule an inspection with one of our highly trained, certified inspectors. During this appointment, the inspector will conduct a thorough evaluation of your home’s interior and exterior, identifying sources of water seepage. The inspector will discuss their findings with you and understand your goals for the repair project. As they prepare your repair estimate, they will tailor solutions to your specific needs, considering your budget and discussing payment and financing options.

Next is the work itself. When you decide to proceed with a repair project, our office will schedule the job with one of our experienced installation crews. The crew will treat your home with the utmost care and respect as they install tested and proven waterproofing solutions. If any issues arise during the process, don’t worry. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we will work diligently until you are completely satisfied with the job. We also offer service and maintenance opportunities to protect our work and your home.

After learning about the potential issues lurking beneath your home, you might be eager to visit your local home improvement store and gather supplies. While there are countless resources like video tutorials and blogs available, it’s important to remember that wet basement repair is not a quick weekend project, even for the most capable DIY enthusiasts. Crawl space waterproofing is serious work best left to professional contractors.

DIY repairs like sealants or paints may offer temporary relief, but they won’t address the underlying water and moisture problems. These solutions often fail, leading to peeling and flaking as water finds new ways to enter your basement.

Don’t waste time and money on quick fixes that won’t solve the problem. Trust a reputable company to fix the issues right the first time.

It’s understandable to be cautious if you’ve heard horror stories about working with contractors. However, don’t let a few bad experiences deter you from seeking professional help.

Before hiring a contractor, do your homework. Make sure you’re comfortable with who you bring into your home. Request information about the company, including reviews, references, proof of insurance, licenses, certifications, a written contract, and examples of completed work.

And don’t hesitate to reach out to us at CNT Foundation Services! We’re here to help.

Now that you’re aware of common crawl space issues and their causes, don’t you feel motivated to tackle these problems and eliminate them for good? Why expose your loved ones to such conditions? Investing in reliable crawl space repair solutions offers countless benefits. Here are just a few:

Better Health and Quality of Life — Mold thrives in dark, damp areas like crawl spaces. Since more than half the air you breathe in your home comes from below-grade spaces, mold and dust mites in your crawl space can impact your respiratory health. Conditions such as asthma, allergies, and other respiratory issues can worsen or develop due to mold exposure. Keeping your crawl space dry can prevent these health problems. Additionally, running a dehumidifier will improve air quality and regulate moisture and humidity levels, contributing to a healthier home.

Protected Structural Integrity — Leaking water and failing walls often go hand-in-hand. Oversaturated soil next to your foundation walls can create hydrostatic pressure, leading to cracks, wall movement, and crawl space leaks. This is especially common in homes with block foundation walls, where water can seep through porous materials and accumulate inside the walls, compromising their stability. Proper crawl space waterproofing protects the foundation and the rest of your house.

Improved Energy Efficiency — Crawl spaces are naturally cooler because they are below ground. However, water leaks can cause even more significant temperature drops, making the floors above feel cooler and increasing the need for heating. High humidity levels also strain your air conditioner in warmer months, causing it to run constantly and driving up utility bills. Investing in reliable waterproofing solutions can improve your home’s energy efficiency and save money on heating and cooling costs.

Increased Real Estate Value — Your home’s resale value is influenced by various factors, including its condition. Homeowners are legally required to disclose any known past or current defects, such as crawl space leaks and pest infestations, when selling their homes. Addressing these issues beforehand shows potential buyers that you care about your home’s condition and value.

Don’t hesitate to invest in professional waterproofing solutions that ensure the safety, health, and value of your home.

Waterproofing your crawl space is crucial for protecting your entire home. While unfinished crawl spaces may seem to require less care or maintenance than rooms like your bedroom or living room, this is not the case.

Domino Effects

Water seeping into your crawl space can affect other areas of your home. The extra humidity from a leaking crawl space can spread throughout the house, even reaching the attic. This can make the air uncomfortably damp, warp wooden doorways and windowsills, fill your home with a musty odor, and promote the growth of mold and mildew. Keeping your crawl space dry prevents water damage from spreading throughout your home.

Crawl Space Waterproofing Is Easy

Waterproofing your crawl space is essential, and fortunately, it’s a straightforward process. Investing in waterproofing now is more cost-effective than paying for water-related damage repairs in the future.

Crawl space waterproofing, foundation drainage, and good yard drainage can also help prevent other foundation problems, such as soil washout. This reduces the risk of needing concrete slab repairs. Installing waterproofing systems like sump pumps and interior drains acts as built-in insurance for your home.

Standing water in a crawl space can lead to moisture problems, mold growth, and weakened support beams. Addressing drainage issues and installing a vapor barrier can help prevent structural damage.
